Accident help
Had an accident?
Here's what to do.
Stay calm. Follow these steps, and call us any time, day or night, for towing and help with your insurance claim.
-
Make sure everyone is safe
Turn on your hazard lights and put out your warning triangle. If anyone is hurt, call 999 (or 112 from a mobile). Move to the roadside only if it's safe to do so.
-
Take photos and swap details
Photograph all the vehicles, their number plates, the damage and the scene. Exchange names, phone numbers, plate numbers and insurers with the other drivers, and note any witnesses.
-
Call us for towing
Our tow trucks run 24 hours. Be careful with tow trucks that turn up without being called: you choose who tows your car and where it goes. Your insurer may also offer free towing; ask them to send your car to Shen Wah.
-
Make a police report within 24 hours
Malaysian law requires a police report within 24 hours of an accident, at any police station. Your insurance claim needs it.
-
Tell your insurer, and let us handle the claim
Notify your insurer as soon as you can. As a panel workshop for 24 insurers, we deal with them directly: assessment, approval, repair and paperwork.
Documents to bring
- Police report
- Your IC and driving licence
- Vehicle registration card (grant)
- Insurance policy or cover note
- Your photos of the accident
Not sure what you need? Send us the details and we'll guide you.
